Blackburn Buccaneer

from £99.99

The Buccaneer was designed as a naval attack aircraft in the 1950’s by the British manufacturer Blackburn Aircraft Ltd for the Royal Navy. Designed to perform low level attacking runs against enemy shipping, the Buccaneer was capable of carrying both nuclear weapons and conventional munitions. The type was well liked by flight crews due to its forgiving flight characteristics and capability of slow stable flight. The Buccaneer served in the first Gulf War supporting the newer Tornado’s in attacking enemy infrastructure. These attacks resulted in the destruction of over twenty key road bridges, which severely hampered the Iraqi Army’s mobility and communications. Just over two hundred production Buccaneers were made and the type was retired in March 1994 in favour of the more modern Panavia Tornado.

This stylish piece of wall art is precision laser cut from 2mm steel and powder coated to a satin black finish. This provides a durable rust resistant finish so it can be displayed indoors or out. The piece stands away from the wall by 16mm giving an elegant 3D look which casts a silhouette on the wall. Mounting instructions and wall fixings are supplied.
