Swordfish

from £99.99

The Swordfish was a British biplane torpedo bomber. Designed in the 1930’s by the Fairey Aviation Company, the ‘Stringbag’ as it was nicknamed, saw front line service with the Fleet Air Arm in WW2. Despite the out dated design, the Swordfish achieved some surprising successes, including sinking one battleship and crippling two others during the Battle of Taranto. A number of Stringbags even attacked the mighty German battleship the Bismarck, which ultimately led to her sinking. The Swordfish sank more tonnes of enemy shipping than any other Allied aircraft type.

This stylish piece of wall art is precision laser cut from 2mm steel and powder coated to a satin black finish. This provides a durable rust resistant finish so it can be displayed indoors or out. The piece stands away from the wall by 16mm giving an elegant 3D look which casts a silhouette on the wall. Mounting instructions and wall fixings are supplied.
