Dragon Rapide
The de Havilland Dragon Rapide is a twin engined, short-haul airliner built in the 1930’s. It’s twin ‘Gipsy Six’ engines and durable plywood construction made the Rapide a rugged and economical aircraft capable of carrying up to 8 passengers. As WW2 broke out, many Rapides were used by the RAF under the name de Havilland Dominie. Here, the type served in roles such as radio and navigation training, passenger transport and communications duties.
This stylish piece of wall art is precision laser cut from 2mm steel and powder coated to a satin black finish. This provides a durable rust resistant finish so it can be displayed indoors or out. The piece stands away from the wall by 16mm giving an elegant 3D look which casts a silhouette on the wall. Mounting instructions and wall fixings are supplied.
