P-51D Mustang
North American Aviation designed and built the famous ‘Mustang’. Early P-51’s were fitted with Allison V-12 engines which proved unreliable and gave the Mustang a lack-lustre performance. Subsequent models were then powered by the mighty Merlin engine which gave it greater speed and a ceiling of over 40,000 feet. The most widely produced and recognised version of the P-51 is the P-51D with its large bubble canopy. Armed with six .50 caliber Browning machine guns, the Mustang was used to escort bombers on long range raids over Germany as well as serving in the Pacific theatre against Japan.
This stylish piece of wall art is precision laser cut from 2mm steel and powder coated to a satin black finish. This provides a durable rust resistant finish so it can be displayed indoors or out. The piece stands away from the wall by 16mm giving an elegant 3D look which casts a silhouette on the wall. Mounting instructions and wall fixings are supplied.
If you wish to personalise your Mustang with your or a loved ones initials, please select ‘Personalised Initials’ in the ‘Select Detail’ drop down box and fill in the ‘Note/Additional Info’ form at the checkout page
